The inventory manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating inventory operations and establishing procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish standard inventory control procedures
  • Conduct weekly counts of various departments, this will include the data entry of the items
  • Conduct weekly block counts with yard manager, this will include the data entry of the items
  • Responsible for setting up daily processes and for setting up procedures
  • Responsible for designing and implementing a program to label items in warehouses, outside areas, and updating computer with locations as necessary
  • Responsible for preparing an annual physical inventory program, this will include when to do inventory, who will be involved in conducting inventory, entering the inventory into software program, conducting any recounts necessary, and then rolling inventory
  • Will be responsible for training an assistant at some point so that the processes and procedures used at main facility can be implemented at other two facilities

Skills needed:

  • Comfortable with use of computer
  • Knowledge of excel and functions
  • Comfortable training other personnel as necessary

Other attributes needed:

  • Comfortable being outside when doing block counts and other cycle counts

Comfortable performing physical activities such as walking, bending, reaching, walking up ladders, etc..,
