Maintenance Mechanic – Weekends

Job Description

1st, 2nd & 3rd shift 7 am- 3:30 pm  3-11 & 11 pm to 7 am

Friday, Saturday & Sundays 36 Hour work week Get paid for 40 hrs.

Responsible for the overall service, diagnostics, repair, installation, maintenance of machinery and equipment throughout the facility.

Duties include:

  • Operate typical maintenance shop power tools and use a wide variety of maintenance hand tools and meters.
  • Perform routine oiling and greasing of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Make repairs to buildings, requiring masonry, and plumbing skills.
  • Weld, braze and cut using oxyacetylene and electric arc welding equipment.
  • Operate electric test equipment such as DVMs, test lamps, amp meters, etc.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and observe all safety rules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of plant equipment, including steam, hydraulic, cooling, pipe systems, fans, monorails, hoists, pumps, cylinders, air compressors, air systems, blowers and ventilating systems.
  • Operate and maintain boilers and chillers.
  • Overhaul and maintain hydraulic lift trucks.
  • Work from prints and design diagrams (electrical, blueprints, building diagrams, etc.)
  • Perform necessary layouts, fabrication and installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Install, rig, move and relocate machinery.
  • Fill out required forms.
  • Basic computer operation.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Must meet one of the following criteria: High school diploma or equivalency diploma
  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatic and trouble-shooting
  • Ability to read mechanical schematics
  • Install, repair and preform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Ability to read mechanical schematics
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • PLC Experience a Plus
